About Us
About Us
Point of Communication Therapy Center offers a form of AAC services to individuals with apraxia and other sensory motor profiles by using the Spelling to Communicate method. We believe that with access to full and robust communication and motor control it will lead to a life of autonomy, independence and inclusion.
At the heart of our center is a personal journey that began with a deep desire to make a difference. As a Spelling to Communicate Practitioner and a proud parent of an unreliable speaker who is also a speller, I understand firsthand the profound impact effective communication can have on a person’s life and their families lives. My experience as both a professional and a parent shapes the compassionate and individualized approach we offer here.
Our Approach and Philosophy
At Point of Communication Therapy Center, our approach is deeply rooted in presuming competence, respect for our spellers, and a commitment to each spellers individual unique needs. We use the Spelling to Communicate method to empower non-speakers, fostering reliable and robust communication through personalized support and motor coaching. Our philosophy centers on creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every individual’s voice is valued and heard. By providing tailored strategies and dedicated care, we aim to help our clients achieve their communication goals and build confidence, ultimately gaining autonomy over their lives.
